Sometimes use a fisdheye lens can help to achieve some stunning results from a lot of "canonical" shots.
When I bought my Sigma 15mm f/2.8 FE, I was planning something totally different, something I haven't still realized, but one day I will.
Anyway, since that day I never left my small toy at home, and when I see some peculiar features in a panorama or in a landscape that can "do the job", I don't hesitate to take some shots with it.
Then, here's another "fisheyed" image, a view of the Grand Canyon, close to Mather Point, with a voluntarily exagerated earth curvature, to emphatize more the greatness of the place I was watching before me.

I’m jumping forward in my South American images to mix things up a little. This one is from Glacier Grey in the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, just west of the Cordillera del Paine where we had spent the past week and a bit trekking through and exploring.
It’s hard to comprehend how big this glacier is (the kayaker in the bottom right will help to give it some scale) not just in the sheer magnitude of the ice face but also in the land coverage – at last account this ice field reportedly covered some 270 square km of land.
What is even harder to comprehend is just how much bigger it was. It’s retreat in recent years is nothing short of terrifying and heart breaking – there’s every possibility that our children may never see these incredible scenes.
The world today is changing and quickly becoming a world we once knew.
When you hike in or around Yosemite...it pays to keep your eyes open. I ran to catch this one! enjoy

Today is a green day at Color my world Daily and I’m officially giving up on all Christmas celebrations for 2021. Yesterday, we had some new restrictions which weren’t as bad as everyone assumed. Of course, there is, once again, the reduction of the number of people allowed inside. We started with 20 people last week, to downsize to 10 and as for now only 6 people are allowed to gather. Just about at same time as the new restrictions were announced ( and I was super happy, since my family + my parents equal 6 people and the restrictions sre only in effet after the 26th!!) the univers hit me in my face with a new unplanned event… We got an email from the school, apparently my son was in close contact with someone who has Covid19 so he has to isolate since he wasn’t fully vaccinated (the vaccination of 5 to 11 years old just started here…). So just like this, our dream of family Christmas was crushed. What is even more ironic, at the same time a quote showed on my Facebook wall : « adulthood is like looking both ways before you cross the street and then getting hit by an airplane ». That is why I know that this is the universe messing with my life… But the reason why is the universe so mad at me is yet to be discover….#2022goals.
So basically my picture illustrate how my Christmas will look like. Drinking with a book … well we all know by now, that there will be only drinking and no reading at all… I just put a book in this picture to look more intellectual and classy, but who am I kidding ?

Shortly (next week), I will take few days off from Flickr my friends ! I want to spend some time with my family, so I will not have time to take pictures. But don’t you worry, I will be back in 2022 for sure !

Today my father called to ask me if my daughter was alright after she rolled her car 4 times. What!!!!! I exclaimed, who told you that. He informed me that it was posted on my nieces Facebook page. Apparently, Facebook spits out anniversary facts along with a photo and today was the day that my daughter rolled her car 4 years ago.
As we spoke, I turned to see the perfect conditions unfolding before my very eyes, Since I have become interested in landscape photography I have waited two years for the right light, clouds and snow cover to envelope the mountain so that I could capture it in the style I’m accustomed to photographing, and finally the day had come.
This is the view of Mount Baldy which sits right behind my home and is the view that I see every day that I step into my backyard, except my view is contaminated by large power lines that spoil my vantage point. I was hoping that the tip of the peak would be in view but alas, at the last minute the clouds rolled over the top and obscured the top most portion of the mountain. Just as Ansel Adams said. “Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer- and often the supreme disappointment” I won’t say the I was disappointed but I am still waiting for the ultimate shot of this mountain top, and one day I will have my prize. :) Hope you like it. :)
